The cover of Skin Two issue 7 featured my neighbour Caroline, dressed as a rubber angel. The news section recorded the recent closure of Maitresse, London’s fetish night that followed on from the original Skin Two club. There was a cartoon strip by Kevin Walsh and a piece of art, magic and fetishism by Jeff Willis. (A figurine by Jeff of his partner Carla is in our office to this day.)
We meet the New York dominatrix, author and activist Ava Taurel, our lawyer friend answers some thorny questions arising from the censorship laws and the photography by Ewan Fraser is styled by Nigel Wingrove, who later founded Redemption Films. There’s some really lovely art by Patrick Robinson.
The photography by Trevor Watson still looks great today. (Trevor is making films now - we had a curry with him last week!) The back cover has a full page ad for Murray & Vern rubber fashion – Angela Murray has moved on now, but she still looks just the same. I love the designs of the Skin Two t-shirts advertised on page 38 - maybe we should reproduce some of them now.
